Zhang Jike recommends this new blade to ambitious players who favor an attacking style but want greater precision in their game. The Chinese superstar, who also runs his own table tennis academy, understands from experience that maximum speed is not always the best solution. This knowledge inspired the development of the Donic Zhang Jike New Era.
Like its predecessor, the blade has a kiri wood core combined with two ayous layers, but with an innovative upgrade: instead of two, it integrates three finely woven synthetic fibre layers. This refinement provides a softer touch and superior ball feedback. The outer veneers are made of limba, a slightly softer wood than the koto used in the Zhang Jike Original Carbon, enhancing control even further.
