- Crisp 50° Japanese sponge: Delivers explosive catapult acceleration and instantaneous energy transfer, allowing players to finish points with penetrating speed and depth.
- Soft, slightly tacky topsheet: Maximizes surface dwell time and friction, generating heavy rotational spin on underspin pushes, banana flicks, and looping returns.
- High-precision counter-attacking: Absorbs incoming heavy topspin smoothly, enabling crisp active blocks and sharp counter-drives right off the bounce.
- Ideal for versatile combination setups: The thinner sponge versions provide unmatched touch for defenders and pip players seeking a reliable, high-spin weapon on the reverse side.
The Sauer & Tröger Icon represents the ultimate fusion of Japanese manufacturing precision and German engineering for spin-oriented, decisive offensive play.
What style of play is the Sauer & Tröger Icon best suited for?
It is designed for modern offensive attackers who dominate rallies through heavy topspins and precise counter-drives, as well as combination players who demand dependable control and dynamic spin variation.
How does the Sauer & Tröger Icon compare to the Sauer & Tröger Secret Flow?
Compared to the softer Sauer Tröger Secret Flow, which is tailored for classic chop defense and control allround play, the Icon features a significantly firmer 50° sponge and higher catapult dynamics, providing far greater offensive speed and punch for direct attacking strokes.
What table tennis blades pair best with the Icon rubber?
The Icon pairs exceptionally well with balanced carbon and all-wood offensive blades from our table tennis blades collection, as well as specialized combination blades, providing complete synergy when browsing for high-performance table tennis rubbers.
