Dr. Neubauer has successfully improved the performance of Anti-Spin rubbers for blocking close to the table. With the introduction of plastic balls, which generate significantly less spin, achieving spin reversal has become more challenging. However, the Tarantula Anti-Spin rubber excels in delivering the highest possible spin reversal with these new balls. Unlike many other frictionless Anti-Spin rubbers, Tarantula allows for very short blocks with low bounce, making it hard for opponents to execute their next attacking stroke. It is also effective against fast topspin shots and flat hits, causing a noticeable sinking effect on the ball. TARANTULA is versatile and can be used on both classic "combination" blades and fast, stiff offensive blades. This is due to its dampening sponge, which absorbs the speed of incoming balls, effectively "killing" their momentum. The rubber is available with dampening sponges in three thicknesses: 1.2mm, 1.5mm, and 1.8mm. The 1.8mm sponge is the slowest, providing the highest level of control, while the 1.2mm sponge offers the best spin reversal. The 1.5mm sponge serves as an excellent middle ground, balancing speed and spin reversal.
